Dr. Andrew Shyu

Dr. Andrew Shyu is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in comprehensive medical and surgical eye care. Originally from Saratoga, California, he brings advanced surgical expertise and a patient-focused approach to caring for individuals and families in the community. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), followed by his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Temple University, where he received extensive training in both medical and surgical management of eye disease.

Dr. Shyu provides a full range of ophthalmic services, including small-incision and laser-assisted cataract surgery with advanced technology lens implants. He also performs refractive procedures such as LASIK, PRK, ICL, and refractive lens exchange, using the latest surgical techniques to help patients achieve clearer vision. He is fluent in both Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, allowing him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.

Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Shyu enjoys watching basketball and soccer, playing tennis, and spending time with his wife, son, and their corgi, Doug. He currently practices in the surrounding region and will be providing surgical and clinical services several days each month at Lavenburg Medical Group.
